I’m currently sitting in the sun. My keyboard is black and getting very hot very quickly, but I can’t miss a what I ate wednesday.

NOT MY PHOTO! (I wish) it’s a recipe via http://ohsheglows.com/2011/06/20/high-protein-quinoa-almond-berry-salad/. I can’t wait to eat it! (it’s in the fridge right now) (: Please check it out because I’m sure it absolutely delish!

So just a disclaimer, I do not post everything I eat. Especially because it’s only 2:30pm and I have no idea what unfortunate food I will binge on tonight. (Last night it was fudge and my tummy hated me).

It’s hard not to binge on unhealthy foods once I get my hands on them. Any tips???

I ran two miles today! How pathetic right? Well it was hot and my feet hurt… and actually it’s not that hot and my feet don’t really hurt I’m just complaining (; I want to do a 5k in August so I am going to have to start running again. Poop! We (my mom) bought Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred. My mom ached a ton after doing it last night. I was going to try it tomorrow or Friday; we’ll see how ripped I can get in 1 week before I leave for camping up north. Woop woop! (:

Right above my pelvis is hurting when I push on it, and I’m not sure what’s wrong. My parents banned all activity for the rest of today, otherwise I could have done Zumba. 😦

I visit baby Zeus this Sunday! Hooray!

an exciting #wiaw (pb banana bread)

I have so much for today’s post. I hope you enjoy all of it. (A special thanks to those who responded to last night’s post including N and Allie!) I am going to try to be more open and real on here.

I realized I’ve been trying to fit this specific “food blog” type and, honestly, I’m not a food blog. I don’t really make recipes that often, and I don’t go through the motions. I am pretty much a “my life” blog. So if I have recipes (like today’s) that’s awesome. But unfortunately I won’t be providing them regularly. So just throwing all that out there. This blog is pretty much going to be my journal, my home, my thoughts, all the parts of my crazy brain. (;

NOW! Onto WIAW!

yum right?! [chocolate banana!]

I do not have dinner for y’all yet because it’s only 1:14pm here in Michigan! I always am so late to the WIAW party that I decided to post a wee bit early (;

So in honor of my wiaw being incomplete… I have a recipe for y’all!

peanut butter banana bread

  • 3 mashed ripe bananas
  • 2 C peanut flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powser
  • 1/3 C greek yogurt (I like vanilla chobani)
  • 3 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 C white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
Mix wet ingredients & dry in separate bowls.
Cassie was my baking partner!
Add dry ingredients to wet and stir. Be careful not to over-mix.
Grease a loaf pan and pour batter in. Cook on 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes.
Allow 15 minutes to cool before removing from pan.

Enjoy.

And by enjoy…. I mean eat it all.

This lasted two days at my house. We are a banana bread family.

Today I am making a music video with my best friend, Cassie. (See above for her baking photo op.) It’s going to be ahhhhwwwsummm. (:

Day (six) Seven: wiaw

Oh my gosh. I don’t think I’m ever on time for anything. Work, school, appointments… wiaw.

Yeah, it’s a fail. But thankfully Jenn loves me anyways. (:

Bonus: I had my new Dark Chocolate Dreams PB from PB&Co. Delish. Go out and buy it. Now.

Grilled chicken with portobellos on top! Delicious. I had double veggies instead of potatoes though!

More Fun

I had more oats in a jar!

This stuff tastes like frosting. Seriously.

My family celebrated family dinner on Sunday! It was probably the most stressful day ever and next time I guarantee we are either going to Olive Garden or ordering pizza. But after all the hard work it sure was tasty!

Wild brown rice, sweet corn, and delicious grilled salmon! MMMmmmMMMMm!

I actually went back and filled this plate up again… the same was it was the first time! I felt sick after but it was just so so good.

I also took these two cool pictures (with my phone no less)!

Yeah I’m awesome.

This is me when I pump iron at the gym. Yeah don’t I look hardcore? [I tie-dyed that shirt last year!]

Love the band-aide right? I had a TB test. I find out the results tomorrow but it’s done nothing but bruise so I’m pretty sure I’m all set (:

Today started off bad, but then after getting home and doing some things to feel better, I feel better! I skyped one of my best friends from school, Kayla, and I watched 2 hours of True Blood. Now I’m blogging and I’m about to eat some Coldstone ice cream! The night has turned into a truly lovely one ❤

wiaw & a healthy June

So I know it’s Thursday night and I’m posting about Wednesday. But I am a busy girl and I have lots of stuff that I have been up to (: So you will first see my WIAW, then some fun pictures and updates.

Yesterday I went to therapy. [Hi Teresa!]  We discussed how I can change over the next month to conquer all the things I’ve been having problems with, like my anxiety and guilt and everything! So tomorrow I am starting a 30 day challenge for myself. Every day I want to make progress towards some daily goals. I am going to try to take things day by day, and try to learn that I can’t worry about things that I have no control of. But I have to try to change what I do have control of. What better place to chronicle this journey than right here on my blog? I might make some posts private, so if I skip a day, that’s probably why. (Not all my issues should be public!)

It’s a journey towards health and happiness. I always set unreachable goals. To be happy. To be healthy. These aren’t tangible things, they are works in progress. They are processes. It’s something to work at every single day. Something I read about recently on http://www.runningoffthereeses.com/ was how we shouldn’t say “I’m perfect the way I am!” because we are always a work in progress. We should be critical of ourselves!

WHAT?!

Yes! We should be critical. Not to the point where it’s damaging, but so that we know where we can improve. The purpose is to find out how we can improve our lives and ourselves. I have never thought about life in that way! It’s called being a realist. (http://www.runningoffthereeses.com/2011/06/im-realist.html)

So I am going to have to really buckle down to chronicle this. I am going try to find the positives in my day. I am going to try to do my therapy exercises. Meditation. Radical Acceptance. Cognitive Restructuring.

It’s going to be difficult, but I know it will be worth it. I didn’t succeed with my May goals, but June will be different. I am ready to take action. I hope to have nothing but good news and happiness to share with you. There will be some intense bumps along the way, so I hope you don’t mind seeing that. I don’t want to be a negative nancy, but I can’t always slap on a smile. It’s not me. I am not 100% happy all the time, and I feel like that is how I’ve come off on my blog. Not to say I’m going to bombard you with cloudy days, but I am going to try to be 100% real with you guys. I love your comments. They make my day. I love hearing about you guys and how you relate.

Thanks for being there with me, and I hope we can take this new journey together!
